Provoly, the data platform serving ecological and social transitions
Onepoint supports businesses and local authorities in the development of smart and sustainable territories and buildings. One of its solutions is Provoly, a data platform that allows for the definition and tracking of indicators to take action with a positive and lasting impact.
Raising Awareness of Climate Change
It is now essential to take action against climate change. We can no longer ignore the scientific signals, environmental impacts, and rising financial costs. Climate warming in France is expected to be more severe than anticipated, with already palpable consequences such as droughts, heatwaves, and wildfires. The costs of climate change-related disasters have significantly increased, reaching €4 billion annually, and could total €143 billion by 2050. Therefore, an ecological transition focused on decarbonization is necessary to reduce future impacts and preserve social equity, while also encouraging the development of adaptation tools and strategies to face climate uncertainty.
Challenges for the Public Sectors
Organizations and public sectors are working to develop smart territories with minimal environmental impact. To achieve this, they need to:
- Minimize the environmental impact of territories through the strategic use of data.
- Anticipate the future by making sense of data to better understand climate risks.
- Transform data into an asset for territories and use it as a competitive leverage.
- Overcome the uncertainty of climate risks by adopting a proactive approach.
- Place people at the heart of decarbonization projects for a successful and equitable ecological transition.
- Find relevant solutions to develop smart territories, despite the complexity of the market.
Meeting the Climate Change Adaptation Challenge with Provoly
To address decarbonization challenges, Onepoint developed Provoly, a data platform that facilitates the ecological and social transition in a sovereign manner for a positive and sustainable impact.
This data management tool, based on an open-source and collaborative foundation, allows for optimizing operational excellence, predicting future trends, and innovating to support the ecological and social transition for the public good.
Provoly is thus a unique predictive decision-making solution. As Agathe Dufour, project and product manager for Intelligent and Sustainable Territories at Onepoint, explains: “We started from a clear observation. The collective lacked meaningful decision-support and predictive tools. Additionally, they had open data that was rarely updated or unstructured. For public interest issues, we developed our Provoly platform base in open-source. This includes a data collection, processing, enrichment, and delivery engine.”
The Flexibility of Provoly
Provoly’s flexibility allows it to address a wide range of environmental and social issues: fire or flood risk detection, energy or mobility monitoring, citizen feedback collection, carbon sequestration tracking, and soon, phytosanitary monitoring…
Acting on Carbon Sequestration
Onepoint met the challenge of combining machine learning and satellite data to assess the carbon sequestration of territories. By using a trained learning algorithm to cross and analyze data, precise interactive geographic maps were obtained. This allowed for better identification of carbon sinks and richer diagnostics. In the face of climate uncertainty, Provoly provides a powerful decision-making tool to protect ecosystems, notably with its integrated tool for dynamically estimating the carbon impact of land use changes.
Managing the Entire Smart Territory with the Urban Hypervisor
Provoly addresses urban challenges by offering a comprehensive solution to manage multiple urban systems and services, providing an overview of urban mobility, monitoring public lighting for sustainability, taking real-time action on various connected objects within a territory, supervising different infrastructures, and coordinating the interventions of agents.

In short, the 10 main advantages of Provoly for making territories smart and sustainable:
