Strategic agreement with the Moroccan government
Rabat, July 22, 2025 – This memorandum of understanding marks a key milestone in strengthening ties between the Kingdom of Morocco and international technology stakeholders. It aims to accelerate the digital transformation of the country’s industrial and administrative sectors, while fostering the development of a sovereign innovation ecosystem in the fields of data and artificial intelligence.
The partnership was officially signed in Rabat on Tuesday, July 22, in the presence of Mr. Ryad Mezzour, Minister of Industry and Trade; Ms. Amal El Fallah Serghouchni, Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform; Mr. Karim Zidane, Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Investment, Convergence, and the Evaluation of Public Policies; Mr. Ali Seddiki, Director General of the Moroccan Investment and Export Development Agency (AMDIE); and Mr. David Layani, Founder and Chairman of Onepoint.
Through this commitment, Onepoint confirms its strategic presence in Morocco, drawing on the country’s dynamic ecosystem and the institutional support of the government. This signature sends a strong signal to the Moroccan market: Onepoint is investing for the long term, with ambitious plans for development across the African continent.
One year after entering the Moroccan market, Onepoint is formalizing through this agreement the creation of a Data & Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence. This research and innovation hub will be responsible for designing, developing, and operating AI solutions directly within Morocco. It will act as a key strategic lever in the group’s international expansion strategy. Within four years, the center is expected to bring together 500 talents and rely on a robust network of public, private, and international partners. Announced in January 2025 as part of the “Infinite Possibilities” roadmap, international development is a top priority for Onepoint through 2029, and this initiative marks a first concrete step in Africa.
Morocco is both visionary and forward-moving. Its 2030 ambition, driven by strong digital transformation momentum and upskilling efforts, positions it as a true regional innovation hub. With the creation of a Center of Excellence, we will collectively mobilize all AI and data ecosystems across Africa.
