InfraClimat, the tool to support local areas in facing climate-related risks
The Fédération Nationale des Travaux Publics (FNTP) is launching InfraClimat, a digital platform developed by Onepoint to visualize the impacts of climate change on French infrastructure. Available online for free and designed for all French local authorities, the tool aims to raise awareness of climate-related risks, while also highlighting existing solutions.
Infrastructure in France represents an asset estimated at over 2,000 billion euros. Present throughout the country, infrastructure is the backbone of social and economic life—providing access to healthcare, employment, water and energy, and digital services. Yet, it is becoming increasingly vulnerable in the face of climate change.
Raising awareness and enabling public decision-makers to take action is the primary objective of InfraClimat. Until now, there was no simple mapping tool available to help local public officials and infrastructure professionals understand and plan for climate adaptation at the scale of their territory.
InfraClimat provides general insights into the types of vulnerabilities infrastructure may face, along with access to a range of existing solutions—drawn from real use cases, studies, and technical work.
The platform has been developed over the past year by Onepoint, using its Provoly technology, and is based on national datasets from reputable public institutions, made available through open data.
