BNP Paribas develops an expertise branch within the group’s architects.

BNP Paribas IT GROUP aims to institutionalize areas of expertise designed to provide the company’s talents with a career path and thus ensure the sustainability of these skills within the company.

The first pathway selected is the architecture pathway.

The architect plays a key role in transformations by combining strategic vision with practical implementation. They ensure the link between business and technical stakeholders, identifying levers for both business and technological evolution.

Each pathway is structured around several levels of internal recognition within BNP Paribas, which will be implemented progressively.

The first level of the “Expert Path Architect” is accessible to experienced architects and is confirmed through an in-depth, certifying training.

In late 2021, Onepoint and Telecom Paris were selected by IT GROUP Architecture and IT GROUP HR of BNP Paribas to build and deliver this certifying training.

This unique partnership allowed us to quickly offer BNP Paribas this personalized program:

  • 140 hours of ongoing training (led by Onepoint and Telecom Paris)
  • 2 days of training per week
  • Exams (individual and collective), a final dissertation, and a defense to validate the training

It was crucial to build this training with all stakeholders to ensure the program was both adapted to the BNP Paribas context and aligned with the competency blocks of the RNCP certification.

Thus, the teams from Telecom Paris and Onepoint worked closely with a BNP Paribas team and architecture leaders from the group’s entities.

This program was co-constructed in partnership with BNP Paribas, Onepoint, and Telecom Paris.

A multi-year support program

We are currently finalizing the reflection phase to identify some evolutions to be implemented for the second pilot session (in English), which will start in early 2023.

The program will then be offered once or twice a year over the next 4 years to train more than 80 architects from the group at this first level of recognition, “Expert Path Architect.”

This is a strong commitment from BNP Paribas to significantly support the architects who will be at the heart of the major transformations to come for the BNP Paribas group.

We rely on the architects because they will shape the architecture of our information systems for the years to come.

Bernard Gavgani - CIO of the BNP Paribas Group

It is a great satisfaction for Onepoint to participate, alongside its partner Télécom Paris, in this program and to contribute to aligning the group’s architects on a common foundation of knowledge and “standard” architectural practices, while also challenging them to think about new approaches (such as the Platform approach) and new practices (such as Enterprise Design).
